BSS (fka Beesmunt Soundsystem) is Amsterdam born and bred artist, DJ and producer Luigi Vittorio Jansen. Over the last decade plus, formerly as a duo but now a solo concern, BSS established a sound with residencies at key Amsterdam clubs and radio stations plus the Opium Club in Vilnius, and with releases on the likes of Hivern Discs and Honey Soundsystem. The music is always about musical adventure so spans a wide remit from lush downtempo weirdness to tropical electronics via proto house grooves.

The warmth and sensuality of the BSS sounds runs right the way through this week's mix. It slowly builds through ever more expansive synths and long legged drums to wake you from your post weekend slumber. It remains charmingly deep and hypnotic, with sinewy pads, frazzled synths and soft acid motifs all bleeding in and out of the mix to add detail to the trip. It's as mindful as it is subtly physical and leaves you feeling ready for action.

Tracklist:
A1: New Frames - Byronic Hero
A2: Keepsakes - Oblivious Civics
B1: Ayarcana - Bring Nothing Take Nothing
B2: Surit - Overmonitorized

Haven are back with another instalment on their white label series with their third VA compilation on "Sardonic Tonality Vol. 3", with three label mainstays and one fresh face to the imprint.

The A1 kicks things off with "Byronic Hero" from German techno power-house New Frames. Screeching, sinister, syncopated synth work propel the track alongside driving drum patterns and flawless production techniques in this speedy banger. Haven label boss Keepsakes follows on the A2 with "Oblivious Civics", where distorted drum work, ominous vocal samples, and an ear-worm synth hook make for a malevolent dance-floor smasher.

On the flip Italian metal-head Ayarcana returns to Haven for the first time since his split EP with Keepsakes in 2018 on the B1 with "Bring Nothing Take Nothing". Rolling percussion and a rumbling kick drive the track forward alongside eerie drones and creative doom-y modular synth programming in a destructive crusher of a track. Finally the B2 closes the release with "Overmonitorized" from Barcelona's Surit of NX1 fame. Evolving atmospheres interplay with harsh bass textures and overdriven, noisy drum patterns to close out another colossal VA from the Haven team.

Cassius Select is a rhythm master. His grooves twist and turn you inside out and contort themselves into bold new forms. Drawing on the weight of bass music and the skip of garage, he has landed on labels like Matthew Herbert’s Accidental JNR and Banoffee Pies over the last few years. The Canadian - who is also one half of SUMAC Sound System - is now based in Hong Kong and continues to serve up killer club tracks with eerie vocal sounds and alien sound designs that make each and every production standout.

His mix for us is just as unique. It starts off by skating on low riding skeletal rhythms, bumping on stripped back bass and drawing you in with a rich array of vocal, percussive and synth details. Just as you think it’s all set to explode, the dexterous DJ draws back to a murky world of bass and dub then rebuilds with a more high pressure sound before ending on some blissed out r&b. It’s dark, sweet and thoroughly seductive.
The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from La Fraicheur & Leonard de Leonard. Berlin’s infamous GEGEN returns for the second vinyl release on its new label venture with, THE GRACE, which brings together some of Berlin’s most beloved producers including Berghain regular Oliver Deutschmann and club residents La Fraicheur & Leonard de Leonard. Side A sees Deutschmann bring his hypnotic sound with “Wach” which also features a Mar/us remix and the B-side finds the residents deliver the moody “Roadkill” and today we host the crushing remix from Italian producer WarinD. This is another stellar release from the label arm of one of Berlin’s most important events and we look forward to more.

THE GRACE is out January 22nd on vinyl + digital and you can get yours on Bandcamp.

Artist: Billie Jo
Title: LILIES7
Label: Lilies
Catalogue: LILIES7
Format: 12" Vinyl
Genre: Electronic
Style: #Techno
Release date: January 22, 2021

Tracklist:
A1. Dubbla Slag
A2. Faller
B1. Sailor Juul vs DJ Lily Wellness Remix - Dubbla Slag
B2. DJ Lily Finest Fitness Remode - Faller

Two proper techno tunes from Billie Jo, remixed by Sailor Juul and DJ Lily.

LILIES welcomes fellow Swedish artist Billie Jo onto its roster for the labels seventh release.

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Billie Jo is a DJ and producer with material on the likes of Spencer Parker's Work Them Records and Vincent Neumann's Unitas Multiplex. The past few years have seen Billie Jo steadily making her mark on the Stockholm underground scene and here we see the release of her third EP to date via DJ Lily and Sailor Juul's LILIES imprint.

"Dubbla Slag" leads with thunderous kicks, jolting percussive chimes and Jo's own hypnotic vocal chants ebbing and flowing amongst crunchy drums and a pulsating low- end drive "Du får mitt hjärta att slå dubbla slag" - You make my heart skip a beat. "Faller' follows next, embracing a similarly raw aesthetic courtesy of a gritty, dynamically evolving rhythm and intricately processed vocal murmurs, once again from Billie, uttering "Jag faller - så fånga mig" - "I'm falling - so catch me".

On the flip-side label bosses Sailor Juul and DJ Lily deliver their "Wellness Remix", embracing a more menacing feel with heavily distorted bass tones, driving drums and the original vocal line throughout. DJ Lily then goes solo for his take on 'Faller", again adding an even more vigorous feel to things via rave tinged drum breaks, distorted bass stabs and vacillating vocal tones. The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Imchaos. The solo project of Amandine Stioui, current member of Parisian darkwave band, Minuit Machine, Imchaos began in 2019 and she has quickly made a name for herself with electrifying sets and her first track, “What Starts In Chaos”, was just released on Sestra Records and her debut EP is expected in Spring 2021. New Brvtalism No. 263 takes us through her sound, touching on multiple genres from EBM, techno, wave and more while also journeying through dynamic moods and atmospheres.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Triames. “Aimed” comes off the Basque-based artist’s new EP, A Vast Array. With work usually more closely associated with Dub Techno and also his contributions to the Industrial duo HOMOAGENT, this latest collection signifies a departure from those sounds but still undeniably Triames. Honing in on more detailed and washed out sonic elements all produced with a cold almost medical-like precision. “Aimed” is the perfect example of the artist’s technical prowess, an industrialized work of rhythmic electronics that crushes the dance floor or at home.

Sonic & spiritual pirates. We strive for oneness with the baron nature of mind and universe. Discern the pointlessness of innovation, we operate with meditative clearness, unshackled by the chains of prestige. Dissolve the ego, create in hibernation. The mind is empty in essence, without emptiness, there can be no somethingness.

Release date: February 2, 2020

A2. DAHRYL - Recovery (Ghost In The Machine Remix)
B1. DAHRYL - Nightmare
B2. DAHRYL - Nightmare (RVDE Remix)
D1. DAHRYL - Fuel (Exclusive Digital Bonus)

We are proud to start 2021 with our first ever eco-friendly vinyl release - a very unique and stunning EP from the Irish producer and Rebekah's current favorite artist - DAHRYL. The blend of hard industrial and 90's inspired techno comes perfectly in his very qualitative work. Each track is a true masterpiece filled with his various outstanding elements, from polished juggernaut kickdrums paired with jacking vocals & piercing synths that leave your goosebumps with goosebumps! We believe some of the best from the artist yet! The Meaning Of Rave is also honored with remixes from well known and respected dutch and Italian duos - Ghost In The Machine and RVDE. The constant reflective and futuristic tension from GITM remix is surprising with its provoking drills break while the Italian vision of Nightmare is more ravey with sharp groove-based drums and driving atmospheric backgrounds that finish the EP perfectly. In the end we are having a total recovery after those hard times in 2020.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere the new music video for "G.O.M - Hell Is Others (Hålbå Remix)". Ghostovmyself is channeling through ambient, dystopian, sci-fi heavy sounds and soul. This release is a ministry ov ghosts, that captures the moment and atmosphere with the anticipation of being scared. Italian producer Hålbå crafted a spine-chilling uncanny remix for the track; He displays granular textures and dystopian grooves to embody his vision of an uncertain future.

"When observing a simple, silent, and still moment you give it significance. By documenting, it is mummified. And by adding sound to the stillness of this moment you give it life, it is re-born and immortal. This cycle of death and life is the guiding principle for the creation of this piece."

The Brvtalist is pleased to present a new track from ROÜGE. The French artist delivers her debut LP, Ultimatum, for Berlin’s Detriti Records and today we premiere “Cosmic Mission”, one of our favorites on the album. For the release, the artist, sought to create a video game quest, from the discovery of a new world to the final fight. She has definitely done that, using her fresh take on techno infused with EBM and cyberpunk to create a whole universe. ROÜGE has been one of our favorite new artists to watch as of late (see New Brvtalism No. 255), and after this debut, we are definitely looking forward to more.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track by Octalisk. The sounds of Octalisk heavily reflect an ongoing dynamic struggle; treated organic sounds crashing into experimental synthetic processing, ethereal atmospheres escaping dark subterranean void, exoteric dancefloor rhythms meshing with esoteric digital decomposition. Renata Do Valle was born on an idyllic island in the south of Brazil but is now based in Brooklyn, New York. Her vast music collection reflects the heritage of both places but largely draws on Brazilian sounds, be that samba, MPB, electro or soul. She also expertly curates her own Hello Sailor label and has a knack for transporting you from Brooklyn to Bahia and back again whenever she plays one of her expressive and eclectic sets.

This week's colourful selection is one packed with familiar cornerstones like electro, disco and house, but all reimagined through a Latin lens and served up with plenty of South American flair. Joining the dots between the old and the new, the classic and the unknown, it's a steamy and sunny mix that is perfect for parties inside, outside, online or in your headphones. It's such a sweet and full flavour mix that when it's playing you can almost taste the caipirinhas on your lips.

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Ôneyra. Beginning in Dublin in 2016, she’s moved multiple times between Berlin, London and back to Dublin again taking an influential slice from each city. From running club nights, her own label and building herself up as a Dj and producer, Ôneyra shows no signs of slowing down as she sinks her teeth into all corners of the industry. Her productions are crafted with a subversive darkness trying to escape yet made to pummel the dancefloor.

Her deep dark lullabies scream distortion which coil and constrict the frail edges of reality to bring us into her imaginary world. Her sonic identity, which she continues to build, focuses on industrial and punishing techno. Her mix for The Brvtalist does exactly that. Starting the year off with this massive 2.5 hour journey through her dark, powerful sound. We look forward to more from her this year.

Khotin has served up a free flowing range of multi-genre experiments since announcing himself with a soft-hued acid album on 1080p back in 2014. Now involved with running Normals Welcome as well as releasing on DFA, Pacific Rhythm and Public Release, his music is united by a distinctive take on melody, post-club melancholy and love for downtempo sounds. He crafts blissful songs filled with nostalgic feelings and is exactly the sort of artist in whom we can all find some sort of solace.

And this mix is a perfect tonic for reluctant bodies with its slowly cascading rhythms and soft focus melodies serving as a gentle New Year wakener. It's laced with perfectly dreamy pads and ramshackle drums that are never too forceful but always compelling. While often invitingly sombre in mood, the clouds do break along the way to bring moments of real lightness and joy just when you need it.

The unsettling terrain of Evigt Mörker's world can be broken up into a few frenetic parts that give the overall impression of a serene habitat. There's the otherworldly foreground of his techno works that are blissfully psychedelic as well as carefully structured for the most subtly disorientating shifts, and hovering amongst this is his wholesome grasp on the purpose and consequence of melody. Together, this is Evigt Mörker's deadly and addictive mix.

Hailing from Sweden, some initial forays into bands in his youth went hand-in-hand with an early exposure to techno. Yet it was the illegal rave scene in Stockholm that would prove to be most formative. The circuit of DJing and parties soon fed into the need to create a platform from which to work, and so the identity and label Evigt Mörker came into being in 2013. The first three releases cemented Evigt Mörker's ability to rouse melodic dynamics out of an ambient setting. Whether settling and fixating on a rhythmic pattern, or shuffling through different emotions, often these tracks would career into rapturous dancefloor pieces. It didn't take long until the formidable Semantica Records tapped him for a release, which produced the stunning EP, 'Helmet of Bones.' From this point, Evigt Mörker would come under the austere wing of Northern Electronics. Two terse yet incandescent EPs, along with a fourth release on his own label, have charged the air for his debut album, 'Krona'. Appearing on Northern Electronics, a brooding intensity defines the album, as well as a technical dexterity for carving dissonance into lush techno tools.

For those that have witnessed Evigt Mörker live or as DJ, a different side to his recorded output comes into play. Often far more forceful than his releases, there's an energetic and rhythmic power reserved for these moments. It's perhaps this versatility that's kept him in such high demand as a remixer. Taken to the other end of the spectrum, Evigt Mörker's live shows are capable of elegant ambient pieces, if holding a dancefloor down isn't the modus operandi.

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from DRIADA. The composer and singer-songwriter from Moscow, also runs the label and event series Routine Records. Starting as a live multi-instrument and singer under the name Alexandra Pride, soon the artist started to produce electronic music under the new name DRIADA, releasing her debut album «Obolochka» which attracted the attention of numerous filmmakers and TV producers. Now, Alexandra films bizarre music videos and creates sound-design for Russian museums of contemporary art. In her music, folk fairy tales meets heavy beats and cyberpunk ambience.

For her New Brvtalism submission, DRIADA recorded her favorite music that she listens to on daily basis, moving away a bit from what is known as her style. At the beginning though, DRIADA records a little sample of her own voice as she always does in mixes. We are thrilled to host this hour of body, wave and techno explorations from one of our favorite artists.

Thanks to everyone who supported New Brvtalism this year. It is our 6th straight year of doing mixes and we are excited for what 2021 will bring!

VTSS is as fierce and direct as they come in the DJ booth. She came up in Poland's most edgy clubs and since moving to Berlin has been an unstoppable force who has made her always ravey mark on the wider European scene. She's collaborated with Randomer as Body Sushi and with Varg as VARGTSS, and always offers a thrilling barrage of hardcore, EBM and caustic techno from across the ages.

It seems fitting that VTSS takes care of the last podcast of the year because she imbues it with the same pent up tension, confusion and unknowing that has defined the last 12 months. Her selections confront you head on and never let up whether reaching for strobe lit rave, hype speed techno or warped broken beats. Controlled chaos is the best way to describe it, so strap in and prepare to cut loose.
The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from Konstantin Unwohl. “In Rom” comes off the artist’s debut on Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, an LP titled Im Institut Für Strömungstechnik. The Hamburg-based artist and ORDEN affiliate delivers another powerful entry into his discography of minimal synth, cold wave and post-punk sounds. Directed by Christopher Gorski, today we present the video for “In Rom”, a cold yet intimate work beautifully capturing the track.

MSJY (formerly Miss Jay) has a foot in many different scenes and brings them together in bold, brazen sets. A core part of the team at OOST club in the North of the Netherlands and with former residencies at Noorderling and Griessmuehle, her sonic character continually changes. She often weaves bass heavy sounds, dark vibrations and dense IDM into logic-defying musical journeys that counter the dark dark and light sides of her personality in compelling conceptual ways.

Ahead of putting together this week's mix, the artist rewatched the newest Blade Runner and got inspired by the scenic shots. "I tried to imagine what my soundtrack to adventures in that world could look like. I guess you could call it post-apocalyptic dystopian energy with a hopeful end but approachable sound." The result is a cinematic mix that uses atmospheric ambient and minimal drum & bass rhythms to set the scene, build the tension, and take you from moments of thrilling intensity to brain cleansing calm.
The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from The Dag. The Berlin based DJ and producer, via the Philippines, makes intense and explosive music using elements of techno, industrial, noise, and, occasionally, trance. While she doesn’t restrict herself to a specific BPM or genre, she hopes to invoke cathartic feelings in her listeners with her powerful sound. We are ecstatic to host this absolutely punishing mix of her crushing sound.

The South London duo comes through with a haunting EP on She Lost Kontrol to distort the view and warp the vision of industrial addicts and mutant punks with their second release “Order”, a discursive counterattack on four distinct forms of command. They disfigure the unconscious reduction of pleasure and fetish, the connective tissue between privatisation and violence, the seduction of societal norms, and the neurotic tendencies of self-defeat. Like the surrender to a future shock, these four interwoven tracks are produced for the recognition of restraint and the demand for wanting more.

B-side remixes of the title track “Order” come from Physical Wash (former member of High-Functioning Flesh) and Aktion Mutante (featuring members of Violent Poison and Unhuman), two additional perversions of protocol from synth-punk veterans on both sides of the Atlantic. So initiate these six cries of havoc in solidarity with this wasted world, a world of precarious necessity and incessant definition. A world whose shape and conscience will forever be satisfied by order.

The release is out digitally + vinyl February 8th on Bandcamp: https://shelostkontrolrecords.bandcamp.com/album/order

The Brvtalist is pleased to present the new music video for “Join The Ride” by Velvet Velour . The solo project of Russian synthwave diva Valeria Valuyskaya who has been at the edge of Moscow underground music scene for last 8 years as the deejay, founder of Dark Matter nights, long-time Powerhouse Moscow club & studio producer and the singer with college degree in jazz vocals.

Her debut EP «Pleiades» which was released at Swiss Dark Nights label, finds analog synths devotee Valeria following through in the blueprint of dark electropop and coldwave, offering a set of retro-futuristic middle tempo, gloomy and occasionally seductive danceable songs created with a tangible focus on the vocal melody. Velvet Velour isn’t as complex and narcissistic as Grimes and has a more traditionally pretty voice than Emika, which helps distinguish the artist from the legions of noir-pop and retrowave acts. It’s an intriguing listen from a promising singer – and a perfect soundtrack for dark and weird future we are already blade-running in.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Auspex. The Brooklyn-based DJ and producer returns to OATH for a follow up to last year’s label debut with The Lesser Key Of Solomon, a powerful EP with furthers the artist’s ever evolving industrial and techno sound. Using field recordings from an isolated New York City, Auspex then infused his collection into seething, menacing tracks of floor destruction with an undercurrent of the sacred and forbidden, obviously inspired by one of the world’s most notorious tombs of demonology. Today we present, “Ars Goetia”, one of our favorite tracks which masterfully hits peak time energy.

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new track from 11xxx27. “Oblivion” ft. Mystics comes off the excellent new release, Black Market, out on longtime Brvtalist favorite Infidel Bodies. For this offering, the Italian artist presents a dense mix of noise/ambient textures and hints of primordial electronic sounds which give birth to an EP with a strong isolationist and reflective character towards the current technological domination. Using field recordings, samplers, synthesizers and sound processing, 11xxx27 conjures powerful and meditative works which reveal the terrifying dominance of global technologies. Today we present “Oblivion” which possesses an ominous atmosphere ushering in a new decline.

Nabihah Iqbal’s music is informed by a much wider world of reference than most. The pioneering artist has a Masters in Philosophy focused on African history, has studied ethnomusicology and has experience working in human rights law in South Africa. She has an academic approach to the way she builds her music - and her vital NTS radio shows - that unites strands of sound from all over the world into woozy pop lullabies, late night synth soothers and heartbreaking, guitar licked vocal dreamscapes. A new album was due from her in 2020, but a studio break-in meant Iqbal lost a whole heap of music.

The album will now come in 2021, but in the meantime she has given us a snapshot of where she is at with a one hour mix that is truly pan-global. It’s a characterful selection of party sounds featuring pop music and Sade covers, worldly funk and 80s synth jams that sound familiar but are never quite what they seem. This is a mix with the unmistakable stamp of Nabihah Iqbal’s very unique musical identity running all the way through it.

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from E-Saggila. The Iraqi-born, Toronto-based sound artist Rita Mikhael has already made a name for herself with influential releases on Northern Electronics, Opal Tapes and BANK Records which highlight her contemporary and enigmatic compositions. She recently released the outstanding Corporate Cross on Hospital Productions which is a 2xLP master work inspired by social anthropologist Mary Douglas, particularly in regards to her concepts of “dirt” which associates dirt as a form of disruption to order. The album scans through the themes of novelty in human and animal, endemic and deterioration, and the sub-systems of our concealed environment. Rich textures, ambient soundscapes and powerful melodies grip the listener from beginning to end.

New Brvtalism No. 259 resembles many of these characteristics for a powerful entry to our series. Listen and pick up Corporate Cross now.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere the new music video for "Caleidoscopic Anthem" by Fanstrøm X Looper. Two colleagues with musically-aligned minds, an insurmountable sense of mutual respect and driven by the same emotions have come together. Fanstrom is back in his home label alongside Looper, the owner of Dancefloor Impact Research, combining their drive for pushing boundaries and passion for delving into the unexplored possibilities of music.

Caleidoscopic Anthem is the unique result that emerges when the synergy of two talented visions channel into the pursuit of innovation and collaboration. The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from JK Flesh. “Poundland” comes off the new split EP See Red, which features two new tracks from JK Flesh and 2 tracks from Monrella. Both Justin Broadrick (JK Flesh) and Mick Harris (Monrella) have been active for multiple decades, first coming together with legendary metal outfits Napalm Death and Scorn and then embarking on near mythical odysseys with Broadrick’s Godflesh and Harris’ Lull and Fret among countless other projects. Few have had a similar impact across genres as these two artists and when I saw they were releasing a split techno EP, I couldn’t have been more thrilled.

See Red delivers just what we all want - a crushing, industrialized sound that obliterates boundaries and is seething with anger and destruction. “Poundland”, our premiere today, proves once again JK Flesh remains at the top of the class when it comes to unrelenting, pulverizing sounds. To mark this excellent release, I had the honor to speak with BOTH Broadrick and Harris for a short interview about the EP, 2020 and more. The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere new tracks off the forthcoming release, Devotion To Pleasure. Bogota, Colombia’s Rubber Mind returns with their second v/a release after Ecstasy & Transmutations, which came out earlier this year. Devotion To Pleasure arrives with 6 sizzling tracks from some of our favorite artists including Years Of Denial, Tomohiko Sagae, Common Poetry, Qual, Filmmaker and Nghtly. The label builds on its notorious event series and strong visual identify with striking, rubber clad artwork with a serpents sensual touch.

Today we premiere two tracks from both Colombian artists on the record, Common Poetry and Filmmaker. Both have made serious waves on both sides of the Atlantic with their unique sounds. “Asphyxia” finds Common Poetry in top form, with a rhythmic industrial ritual which squeezes tight and pleasurably punishes with its hard metal sound. Filmmaker’s “Melting Plastic Of Frail Skin” takes a different, yet equally devious approach with its searing electro and body shocks. The rest of the record is just as delightful from Years Of Denial’s signature infectious work to Qual’s menacing post-punk mutations.

This release will be begin shipping in January and you can pre-order yours now on Bandcamp.

Mary Lake grew up in France, Algeria and The Netherlands, so has also been exposed to a broad mix of music. In recent years she has distilled that into her own often frenetic rhythms, always with a perspective that is left of centre, but never too far out to lose the attention of her dance floors. It was on her NTS show Worshipping Discordia where she first showcased her distinctive collisions of electronica, folk and globally influenced sounds, but since then has become a firm favourite at clubs all over Europe, Australia and beyond.

Lake's distinctive sense of rhythm is at the heart of this week's mix. The often stripped-back tracks she seamlessly stitches together have drum programming so compelling that little else is needed to keep you locked. Whether riding up and down on a rubbery loop, skating over busy poly rhythms or sinking deep into more linear and minimal cuts, this is pure, seductive body music from someone who exerts expert control at all times.
The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from Marek Nalikowski. “Hack The Fear” comes off the new EP of the same name out on Warsaw’s BTS. This is the Polish producers debut EP and it contains three originals and three remixes from the likes of ISNT, Abu Zeinah, and Piotr Figiel. The Brvtalist is proud to premiere a new video from New Haunts. The Bristol-based artist returns with "Failing Me", a new single and the first look at her upcoming album set to be released in 2021. Like many of us, the artist was holed up in isolation for much of the year and this song represents the bittersweet necessity of inhabiting the human form. Drawing from wave, synth pop, post-punk and more, "Failing Me" is a heartfelt, melancholic piece which shows why New Haunts is one of our favorite artists to watch.
The single is out December 4th (along with some new limited merch) and you can get yours on Bandcamp.

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Sub Imperium. The St. Petersburg based duo first appeared last year after years working on other solo projects. Since then, they’ve been on a tear through the techno-verse with releases on labels like Occult Rhythms, Insane Industry, Gobsmacked, Blockchain and others. They’ve become known for a dark, gritty sound with touches of EBM, industrial and epic cinematic soundscapes. New Brvtalism No. 258 is the perfect trip through their sound.

The Brvtalist is pleased to present a new track from Roll Dann. “Break The Dance” comes off the Madrid-based artist’s new EP, Oppression Dance, which features 4 tracks of the artists floor facing techno sound. After releasing on labels like Pole Group, Soma and Modularz, the artist begins a new chapter with his own label Opera 2000 where he focuses on aggressive yet emotive style. Today we host one of our favorites on the EP, “Break The Dance” which punishes with its brutal drums and powerful synth lines.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere Reka's remix for “You Pt. 12” by SDH. Their suggestive synth-pop songs sprinkled with EBM and techno are fertile ground for DJs all over the world to get the perfect sexy dance song everyone is waiting for in a party in a late night club. SDH and Reka met in Berlin in 2019 when SDH were touring supporting their self-titled album (Avant! Records, 2018) and the connection was instantaneous.

The song ‘You Pt.12’ originally appeared on Against Strong Thinking EP (Avant! Records, 2020), SDH’s follow-up to their first record, and it’s probably one of the songs the bests sums up their sound and style: somber, sexual, obtuse and mysterious.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track by Hüma Utku. Combining her practice of music with her studies in psychology; Utku's works draw inspiration from human condition, Jungian psychology, mysticism and folklore.

"Wherein All Things Are Like The Void" comes off AREA Z`s part two of “Uncanny Valleys” compilation. The concept of the series is related to the theory introduced by Japanese robotitian Mori Masahiro back in 1970, referring to the paradoxical perception of the existing similarities between robots and human beings.

This second opus focuses on ‘Industrial’ music through a variety of genres and interpretations of the genres aesthetics. Opening with an infused four to the floor selection cut with a slice of power ambient, the compilation evolves into a rawer shape, with industrial, noise that embraces either nihilistic or romantic intentions.

Taking a look at music that is influenced by a genre, created in the times where the concept was created, helps us to grasp the links between the theory and music, both inspired by the development of technologies and its influences on both personal and societal aspects.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere the track "Sanjin" by Pouch Envy. His productions are hard-hitting and straightforward club tunes marked by his meditative touch. They strike a refined balance between the sexy and the thought-provoking while displaying his professional grasp on contemporary production techniques.

North American Amusement is Pouch Envy's debut EP, the first installment of his conceptual take on club and rave culture. Three original tracks inspired by New York’s rising rave scene and the sensation that lingers in your body after returning home from the club. A distinct state of consciousness in which most of the tracks on this EP were produced.

Barcelona platform Abundance is focused on championing local talent. For this reason, they have chosen three Barcelona based remixers for this release.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from SNTS. “Bacchanalia” comes off the masked artist’s third full length album, The Unfinished Fight Against Humanity. Following up on 2015’s The Rustling Of The Leaves and 2016’s Losing Sight, one of techno’s most mystifying figures returns with perhaps his most powerful work to date. These 10 tracks draw from references both past and present while also contemplating the effect our actions have on our existence. Much like the current era, we are thrust into chaos and destruction, while clinging to hope and optimism. From the ominous introduction of “An Era Of Absurdity” to the crushing sound of “Empathy over Indifference”, this is perfect soundtrack to a world on fire.

The album is out on 2x12” and digital formats and you can pre-order yours now on Bandcamp.

Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy really cares about music. That might seem an obvious thing to say, but even in our own obsessive world she stands out for her devotion to the cause. Initially mentored by legendary The Loft resident David Mancuso, she has gone on to champion the value of the long player with her much loved Classic Album Sundays on Worldwide FM, has written and produced a number of music documentaries for BBC Radio and this year was nominated for a 2020 Audio and Radio Industry Award for her Unfold Japan series. She's also co-founder of her own Lucky Cloud Loft parties in London, regularly plays on the world's best sound systems and has put together fantastic compilations focussed on the New York scene, Psychedelic disco and plenty more.

All that means her mix is packed with musical knowledge and story telling sounds. After opening with a guitar-licked strain of deep, chugging electronica, Murphy opens up into a world of psyched-out grooves, tropical afro beats and dub deviations that is rich in ingredients. This is a real listening mix from someone who appreciates more than most that the devil is in the detail.
For the the past year, South Korean imprint ABRX has explored material which exists at the intersection of cinema and electronics. The latest release from the label expands on this concept even further with the debut studio album from Ahraam. Human, All Too Human is 10 tracks of dramatic, multi-textured compositions which weave in and out of genres, moods and atmospheres for a rich sensory experience. The track titles recall famous cultural works and Ahraam masterfully transports the listener into the song’s environments. Today we host, “Unchained”, which is one of our favorites of the album and a rhythmic episode of industrial flares and guitar feedback which makes for a epic journey.

Human, All Too Human is out now on 3x12” vinyl and digital. Get yours on Bandcamp.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Vū+PRVNTK. “Rapture” comes off the new album Lucubra (VūMantra Records), an 8 track release which showcases the duo’s powerful, ritualistic sound. The album contains for originals + 4 remixes from Nastika (Pact Infernal - Horo), Yøkaï, Ezaüf and Fangarm. Techno drum machines clash against disrupted voices and percussion that are played live in order to keep the shamanic vibes. Vince Gagliardi (a.k.a. Vū) is a 3D artist and music producer. He is the founder of the label VūMantra Records, artistic director of the collective Modern Bön and creator of the audiovisual project The Nent (Cyclic Law), well-known for its impactful A/V live performances. Francesco Provenzano, aka PRVNTK, is a BMG music publishing songwriter and composer, as well as an artist and performer. He collaborated, as a producer, with Berlin studios such as Mesanic/Bewake studios, and shared the same stage with artists like Black Tiger Sex Machine.

Today we are excited to host “Rapture”, which is a heavy, slow burning work of hypnotic industrial rituals. Lucubra is out November 27th and you can pick it up on Bandcamp.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere "The End" by Djedjotronic on the French label Ritmo Fatale. Proudly unconventional, no smooth edges, no polished veneer, just dystopian drama with a tangible physical aesthetic. After the label's latest successful release "Velvet Dreams”, Ritmo Fatale is now back with the "Mirror Fantasy" EP.

As one of the most renowned players on the electro scene, Djedjotronic crafted a nasty retro-futuristic electro/EBM ride and delivers a merciless dystopian anthem. He's also working on other releases and one of them will be out on Jensen Interceptor’s label "International Chrome".
