Each track acts as a standalone world, but together they form a cohesive whole, driven by feeling rather than formula. There is a subtle melancholy running through the release, not overbearing, but present in the tonal shifts, textural tension and soft-release moments that flicker throughout. It is a record that sharpens Ikari’s already distinctive voice, pushing his technical process further without losing the raw edge that defines his work.

On When It’s Over, the focus isn’t on maximalism. Every choice feels deliberate: harmonic details, spatial effects, rhythmic structure. All of it is aimed at stirring something visceral in the listener. It is the sound of an artist locked into his own narrative, inviting us to step in.

Mitsubishi Fuso is the first single from Ikari’s debut EP for NIX, out on 4th of July. The full EP follows on the 18th of August as a limited stamped white label, mastered and cut by Tim Xavier at Manmade Mastering.

They break the blur of life’s constant rush and remind us what matters. In a world that keeps pushing us forward, chasing what never lasts, rituals help us stop, breathe, and feel alive. They’re like a small death to the endless grind — a way of stepping off the treadmill, even just for a
moment.

The Hedonic Treadmill is a raw reflection on the chaos of modern life — a world addicted to speed, stimulation, greed, and endless craving. It’s a descent into the kafkaesque fast-frenetic world of consumerism and hijacked attention spans that we live in, striving to turn noise into signal. Blending dark industrial techno with ritualistic textures, Buddhist undercurrents, and the pulse of Moroccan folklore, the EP explores the tension between synthetic systems and ancestral memory. From warped mantras to distorted rhythms, each track spirals deeper into the mess — sometimes meditative, sometimes violent, seeking cleansing driven by storytelling and culminating in a cinematic climax.

Brooklyn's evilgiane (@aloevine) is one of alt-rap's most respected figures. The sometime beatmaker for stars like Kendrick Lamar and ASAP Rocky is also the founder of the Surf Gang label and party collective whose experimental style collides drill, footwork, trance and trap into something new. He is a master collaborator whose lauded 2024 mixtape #HEAVENSGATE VOL. 1 saw him work with a range of next-gen talents while serving up an array of the sounds that have influenced him in recent years. Whether happy, sad, or something in between, evilgiane always knows how to best express himself in sound.

And he proves that once more with an hour selection for our series that lands just ahead of him playing a rare DJ set for us at Dekmantel '25. The mix taps into every nuance of his style, with swirling r&b vocals floating over crisp beats, psychedelic melodies smudged into ice-cold rhythms and distorted low ends landing heavy under mumble rap musings. Bari-based underground mainstay Dona Basile, aka DJ Plant Texture, has been crafting forward-thinking techno for a decade, releasing on leading labels from Ilian Tape to Tresor Berlin. Adding to his rich catalogue, his label debut on SHDW’s Mutual Rytm sub-label X is a homage to the spirit of space travel. With the label boss already a long-time fan and having dropped tracks from this EP in his sets for a while, the partnership creates an ideal match for an artist and label looking to push the boundaries of the genre. With Basile’s distinctive style perfectly fitting with the label’s vision, each of the productions provides a tribute to space exploration - fusing analogue hardware and deep rhythmic invention while channelling everything from early sci-fi cinema to the 80s ambient soundtracks. “Space exploration is the ultimate metaphor for creative freedom. This album is my way of sonically mapping the cosmos, not through melody but through mood, modulation and motion”, notes Basile.

Opener ‘Wormhole’ is a raw, driving sound with synth pulses and jacked-up drums for peak time chaos, while ‘Echoes’ evokes ramps it up further with panel-beating percussive loops, earth-shattering bass and twisted stabs. The title track pairs more physical and booming drums with introspective synth craft that encourages deep thought. ‘Flex The Beat’ is the first of two digital only cuts and offers a chaotic collision of overdrive percussion, manic vocal loops and reversed stabs for utter dance floor carnage, before ‘Let It Go’ (Jungle Mix) provides a dark exploration of frenzied jungle breakbeats with drilling bass to close the offering.

Nyege Nyege is synonymous with radical sonic innovation. Since 2015, the boundary-pushing Ugandan festival and its associated label have become a vital hub for adventurous, experimental sounds emerging from East Africa and beyond. Its alumni roster includes some of the past decade's most thrilling and forward-thinking artists—DJ Travella, Nihiloxica, Juliana Huxtable, MC Yallah, and even New York's mayoral frontrunner, Zohran Mamdani. In the process, the collective has reimagined what club music can be.

On the B side mix is Kampire. The Kampala-based DJ has been a core member of the collective since the label's inception. Her mixes often feel like a lesson in musicology, weaving together narratives, tempos and genres while losing nothing in dance floor vitality. These talents are reflected in her contribution to RA.995. A typically kaleidoscopic blend of tough percussive workouts, infectious edits and raw, unreleased gems, the hour-long mix spans batida, singeli, bruxaria and countless more urgent sounds from the global underground.

The enigmatic DJ TOBZY is one of the freshest voices in this ever-expanding ecosystem. This time our guest on CBDSH series is Viels from Italy with a fabulous outer space mix! Known for his superb productions on established techno labels and music selections as a DJ, this mix a showcase in deepness that fits the ethos of DSH like a glove. Drop everything else for the next 69 minutes and enjoy the ride.

Bio:
Class 1990, Viels was born in a little city outside Milan (Italy). Early in his adolescence he discovered techno culture inspired by a book called “TECHNO“ by Christian Zingales. Having released his first Ep on Initial Berlin in 2015, Viels continued his musical path appearing with a track on the well respected dutch imprint Dynamic Reflection, followed by his debut ep “Distrophism” and contributing for the 10 years anniversary of the label, among some of the most recognised artists in the scene : Donato Dozzy, Mike Parker, Shifted, Oscar Mulero, Blawan, Ness, Jeroen Search and many more.
Co-owner with Francesco della Sala of “End Of Perception”, Viels just released also on label such Warm Up, Non Series, Mord, and Semantica Records.
At the moment he is resident of the Acquario party in Milano and an active part of the organization of it.
With an increasing interest and having performed in quality clubs like Tresor, Perron, Cassette, Schron and shared the booth with the likes of Oscar Mulero, Svreca and Dasha Rush to name a few, Viels is establishing himself as part of a new wave of djs and producers approaching the contemporary techno scene.

Bari-based underground mainstay Dona Basile, aka DJ Plant Texture, has been crafting forward-thinking techno for a decade, releasing on leading labels from Ilian Tape to Tresor Berlin. Adding to his rich catalogue, his label debut on SHDW’s Mutual Rytm sub-label X is a homage to the spirit of space travel. With the label boss already a long-time fan and having dropped tracks from this EP in his sets for a while, the partnership creates an ideal match for an artist and label looking to push the boundaries of the genre. With Basile’s distinctive style perfectly fitting with the label’s vision, each of the productions provides a tribute to space exploration - fusing analogue hardware and deep rhythmic invention while channelling everything from early sci-fi cinema to the 80s ambient soundtracks. “Space exploration is the ultimate metaphor for creative freedom. This album is my way of sonically mapping the cosmos, not through melody but through mood, modulation and motion”, notes Basile.

Opener ‘Wormhole’ is a raw, driving sound with synth pulses and jacked-up drums for peak time chaos, while ‘Echoes’ evokes ramps it up further with panel-beating percussive loops, earth-shattering bass and twisted stabs. The title track pairs more physical and booming drums with introspective synth craft that encourages deep thought. ‘Flex The Beat’ is the first of two digital only cuts and offers a chaotic collision of overdrive percussion, manic vocal loops and reversed stabs for utter dance floor carnage, before ‘Let It Go’ (Jungle Mix) provides a dark exploration of frenzied jungle breakbeats with drilling bass to close the offering.

Waves of pulsing, layered techno from the revered Mala Junta resident.

If the electronic music industry is caught in the crosshairs of a battle over what makes for true techno, then D.Dan is one of the underground's great modern emissaries.

A figurehead from the new guard of DJs to arise in the '20s, the Berlin-based artist and Mala Junta resident is an ambassador for a sound that is strongly anchored in the classic roots of techno. His productions, like his mixes, are revved-up takes on the hypnotic wormholes that defined dance floors last decade, but with a fresh (and high BPM) millennial twist.

Originally from Seattle, D.Dan became enamoured with the spectral stylings of psych rock and shoegaze in adolescence. It's not difficult to see how the cosmic tapestry of bands like Cocteau Twins became a blueprint for the entrancing music he's gone on to make as an adult. His releases on Mutant Future and summerpup are latticeworks of loops and layered percussion, custom-tooled for lost hours on the dance floor and drawn-out mixes behind the decks.

This approach directly extends into his DJ practice, where he pairs song selections from contemporaries that mirror his own reduced, controlled approach to techno. RA.994 is a Grade A display of contemporary four-to-the-floor from flagbearers like Roll Dann and Marcal.

And like D.Dan's standalone records, his RA Podcast finds room for sweetness—the intermittent peal of an open clap, the steady ripening of a chord—while ultimately emphasising the beauty of function and form over flair.

Despite its desert origin, H. siroccensis is not entirely drought- tolerant in its early stages. Young plants require deep but infrequent watering.

The Sirocco Hibiscus (Hibiscus siroccensis) is a rare and strikingly delicate flowering plant endemic to the arid dunes and stony plateaus of the North African desert belt. Adapted to survive in extreme heat and minimal hydration, this species thrives during the intense midsummer months when temperatures soar and the namesake Sirocco winds sweep the landscape.

The flower presents with four to five large, soft white petals, each finely veined with translucent lines that catch the desert light at sunrise and dusk. The petals appear almost silky to the touch, At the heart of the bloom, a cluster of scarlet-pink pistils emerges, bold and striking, forming a vivid core that attracts the few desert pollinators active during the heat of day.

Dropping seminal underground classics and cultured full-lengths on an array of leading labels, as well as his own BEK Audio imprint, he has also led the way as a revered DJ as his legacy continues to build. Now, adding to his standout ‘Upside Criminal’ EP as well as his well-received track ‘Fold’ on the ‘Federation Of Rytm III’ VA, he returns with a record that has often featured in both his and Mutual Rytm boss SHDW’s sets, stepping out on the label’s Spectra series with a cut that has long been sought-after by those who know.

A spontaneous studio moment turned club weapon, the timeless ‘Hopper’ merges a syncopated disco bassline with subtle nods to funk and classic dancefloor energy. It’s one of those tracks that lingers in your head long after the night ends – a pure embodiment of Beck’s raw energy and production finesse built on an infectious groove full of contrast and character.

Bulgarian synth wizard, hardware genius and tireless innovator KiNK delivered Spectra’s inaugural release, so he lands as the perfect person to remix. A new studio set from one of the foundational icons of drum & bass.

Few names in drum & bass carry as much history as Peshay. Paul Pesce came up in the crucible of early rave and left fingerprints on labels like Mo' Wax, Good Looking and, most obviously, Metalheadz. By the time drum & bass was surging in the mid-'90s, he was bolted as one of the scene's most distinctive voices.

Where others were pushing clinical austerity or waves of dark pressure, Pesce's ear drew him to featherlight, jazzy chords instead. The atmospheric drum & bass movement—or intelligent, as it's sometimes known today—cohered in his hands with timeless staples like "The Piano Tune" and "Miles From Home."

To a contemporary generation, he may now be best known for Studio Set, which caught alight as a prime slice of algorithm fodder on YouTube in the late 2010s, racking up millions of plays. Alongside Bailey’s Intelligent Drum & Bass, the mix has taken on a second life as a seminal document of a genre in flux. All of which made its removal from the internet, based around a spurious copyright strike, a hot concern.

Although a little tad reserved than some of the scene's most dominant names, Pesce has remained a loyal custodian and historian of the sound. While Studio Set was down, we offered him a crack at making something fresh, and though it's thankfully back up, the Kafkian nightmare galvanised his commitment to preserve recorded history.

Known as a DJ for his dynamic way with a groove, extended blends have long been Pesce's signature. You’ll hear plenty of those on his RA Podcast, as golden-age rollers and contemporary vocal cuts push in and out for up to four minutes, painting a portrait of the genre’s vitality from someone who helped define its terms. True to form, RA.993 carries the touch of a jazz conductor and the assured cool of a veteran who's been deep in the culture for over 30 years.

A1 – Mistress

Rosati opens the EP with "Mistress", a fast-paced track created by syncopated drum sequences and punishing synth lines. Along the structure, the tight bass complements the impactful kick, creating a moving wall of sounds with a crisp high end.

A2 – Serotonin

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter in the brain that plays a key role in pleasure and happiness. With a tension-building arrangement, a rolling groove, classic 909 hats, and minimalist sound design, Rosati delivers a raw track that feels straight out of the '90s DAT, flooding the dancefloor with serotonin-infused happiness.

B1 – Takeshita

Opening the B-side with a darker track, "Takeshita" leans toward the hypnotic and mental side of techno. It's dense and packed with experimental sound design. While listening to the track, you will have the illusion of being immersed in an electric current. The ever-evolving, ethereal percussion carries the structure, adding a human touch and a clever contrast to the overall mechanical sound aesthetic.

B2 – Slipstream

The title track of the EP, "Slipstream", stands out as a synth-based addition to the total work of art. The vintage feel of the atmosphere and the interplay of sequenced synth lines bring a lighter and progressive touch in the EP context, creating an uplifting vibe that is a perfect fit for a closing track when the energy is still high.

Bonus – Rock The Beat

Last but not least, "Rock The Beat" is a bonus track added to the EP. This techno stomper carries a more ghetto house vibe with its slapping drums, topped off by reverb-soaked vocals whispering in your ear. The main synth lines bounce around the stereo field, veering into an abstract direction, while pads create contrast with a dreamy ambience on top of this raw foundation.

@fadimohem is right at the heart of contemporary techno. He brings his own twist on the classic sound - deep, rhythmic and atmospheric. He's a Berghain resident whose first contact with the genre came at the hallowed club, and since then, he has blazed his own trail on the most influential labels in the scene, including his own Mohem imprint. This year, he plays twice at Dekmantel Festival, once as part of WSNWG Live and once on the Radar stage.

Ahead of that, he has put together an exclusive one-hour live set comprised only of unreleased music. It's a masterclass in control that embodies just what you get from Fadi in the club: deep techno planted firmly on the floor but always going somewhere. As dubbed out low ends, glitchy textures and more tripped out melodies come and go, the tension ramps up while both body and mind stay locked.

The Netherlands’ Cool Tiger returns to his Junction Records with the ‘Danse Avec Moi’ EP this June. Opening cut ‘That Night on Saturn’ pairs twisted, mind-melting synth leads with rubbery, bubbling drums that power through the stars. Title track ‘Danse Avec Moi’ then brings a darker tension, with trippy vocals and urgent sirens injecting menace into a direct, high-stakes ride into the void. ‘Love In Turiya’ follows with tightly woven polyrhythms and shimmering melodies that push the mind into overdrive before ‘Full Moon’ closes the EP with a full-throttle techno assault of overdriven drums, sleek pads and hypnotic intensity.

Since 2014, Cool Tiger has become a key figure in Amsterdam’s underground through his Junction Records imprint and MOVA party series. Known for modular-heavy live sets, he operates at the edge of club and experimental music with releases on his label and Berlin’s MOTZ, which have explored a range of styles marked by polyrhythmic patterns and looping vocals, as well as raw, floor-focused techno tools - with his ‘Dance Avec Moi’ EP already supported by the likes of Chris Liebing, Dave Clarke, Elisa Bee, and more.

A rare club mix from the ever-evolving artist, with 90 minutes of shadowy, atmospheric pressure.

Music's therapeutic value is often linked to relaxation—gongs, singing bowls and the like. Dense passages of foggy droning and eerie static aren't traditionally considered restorative, but Laurel Halo makes a pretty good case for it.

The Detroit-born, Los Angeles-based musician's abstract, often improvised productions are heavy on sound design and emotional climax. Driven by atmosphere rather than rhythm, they push listeners to grapple with their innermost insecurities, fears and dreams. "I'm lucky my music has helped people through crises," Halo once told Discwoman. It's easy to see why.

Since her 2010 debut King Felix, Halo has built a stunningly diverse catalogue of classically-informed records. A multi-instrumentalist—piano, violin, guitar, keys—her sharpest instrument is arrangement. Inspired by the surrealism of Italo Calvino and Apichatpong Weerasethakul, her releases, from Atlas to Behind The Green Door, unfold with slow-burning narrative and dense emotional weight. Her soundworlds are layered and labyrinthine—an architectonic space where self-reflection happens almost by force.

Even in the club, the sought-after composer excels in immersion. Her sets extend the expressionist palette of her records, trading traditional rhythm for tension, space and surprise. It’s no wonder she takes a genre-agnostic approach to the dance floor—her deep roots in freeform radio began at WCBN-FM in Michigan, followed by Berlin Community Radio, Rinse FM, and now a regular show on NTS.

RA.992 stitches foggy ambient loops, propulsive techno, mutant percussion and heady left turns with care. Tracks from DJ Rush, Octave One and Eddie Fowlkes nod to her Midwestern heritage, balanced out by deeper, psychedelic fare from the likes of Polygonia and Cousin. It's the mark of an artist revealing both deep curiosity and a precise hand as a selector. Rare, indeed.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Ilya Gurin-Babayeu. "Chrome Red" comes off new EP, QEYS, forthcoming on Warsaw's DERSCHEIN. The release channels 90s hip-hop sampling style through a textural, and groove-heavy techno lens. Vocal chops, layered breaks, and gritty loops collide with hypnotic drum patterns to create something raw, rhythmic, and forward-looking. QEYS pulls from the golden era of techno and hip-hop — dusty acapellas, chopped breaks, crate-dug textures, and reworks them into ultimate tools for any DJ set.
The track is drenched in raw, spray-can-like textures and dynamic momentum, as if it
could break free at any moment. Chrome Red is a graffiti piece painted straight into your
ears. The name comes from a classic graffiti color combo that dominated the artist's
neighbourhood in the late 2010s—chrome fill with a red outline, a timeless staple of the
style. This track is a tribute to the grafti culture he grew up with, a scene that shaped him as
a teenager and continues to leave its mark on his creative process.

Club futurism and a stack of new material from one of São Paulo's boldest shapeshifters.

BADSISTA doesn't do stasis. In fact, he prefers to be in a constant state of motion. It was immediately obvious when the São Paulo artist broke out with his 2016 self-titled EP, in which a bass-heavy melange of baile funk, dembow and trap demonstrated an ability to satiate almost any dance floor.

But BADSISTA continued to evolve through the different moods and textures of the club: from experimental compositions with Brazilian trans icon Linn Da Quebrada to ballroom bass and heads-down funk shellers for TraTraTrax.

This RA Podcast finds BADSISTA in a fluid place once more. The mood starts out slow and moody—one of a slew of unreleased BADSISTA tracks—before seamlessly morphing into the soul-stirring synthwork of Al Lover Meets Cairo Liberation Front. Then he gets playful: tasteful, techy house morphs into smutty baile funk. (And as for the guests, look out for Sully's "XT" and a spicy Batu rework.)

BADSISTA's style is connected by a uniquely Latin sense of rhythm and groove. Here, dramatic synths build up to even more dramatic funk crescendos. Perreo rattles appear in and out of the mix, as if acting as a reminder for people to move. But really, above all, this mix radiates with aliveness.

When you whittle it down to the bare essentials, all that matters is the joy and connectivity you feel within yourself and the world around you. BADSISTA is an excellent facilitator, and you'll hear as much on RA.991.

Each track stands on its own but also connects to a broader sonic arc - one that favors clarity over clutter and focus over force. The arrangements evolve with patience, revealing layers of harmonic, almost current-like, warmth, rhythmic tension and crisp tonal movement. This is techno that feels alive: shifting, breathing and built with intent.

What makes ‘Bourbon’ stand apart is the concept behind its creation. Produced by ANFS during a personal reset and a deep dive into the world of specialty coffee, the album channels the sensory experience of tasting and translates that into rhythm and tone. Each piece responds to a particular variety, fermentation process or brewing variable, turning flavour notes and attributes like acidity, aroma, and aftertaste into frequency response and sonic form.

It all began with ‘Pink Bourbon’ - the first track composed and a catalyst for the entire project. What followed was a game of synesthesia: crafting sounds based on taste, using music to translate something as fleeting as a cup into something physical, something that moves. ‘Bourbon’ is not only a techno record but rather a reflection of internal healing process, obsession and how everyday rituals can spark profound creative energy.

Renegade Methodz is proud to release this unique LP from ANFS: a work of art that sounds like nothing else out there at the moment. It's a focused and forward-thinking piece of music creation that shows artistic maturity, profound inspiration and masterful execution.

NIKS (@niksbad) is as dedicated as anyone to furthering dance music culture. Hailing from south-east London via Bath, NIKS has long proven her curatorial skills with radio shows on BBC Radio 1, Rinse, and NTS. Her idiosyncratic blends of ‘90s groovy, rhythmic sounds and forward-thinking, underground-leaning soundscapes have brought her to some of the world’s most revered clubs. After contributing music to various compilations, last year she explored bass-heavy sounds with her first solo EP on Or:la’s Céad label. Beyond her work as a musician, NIKS also co-founded the Black Artist Database, a crowd-sourced list of Black-owned labels, artists, and producers designed to amplify and uplift talent.

Ahead of her debut at the Dekmantel Festival this year, NIKS serves up a 90-minute window into her current musical world, including her own forthcoming productions in a deep, dub-infused journey into hypnotic techno and house rhythms that intertwine to create a warm, supple soundscape. Its seamless flow takes in sounds from the past, present, and future, and they all encourage you to move and meditate in equal measure."

Recorded during the early hours of Sunday morning at Garage Noord at the Omen Wapta Weekender, this live set from Formant Value captures the essence of a weekend that transcended the club experience—where sound, space, and shared energy merged into something truly transformative.

One hour of resolutely DIY club workouts, from one of the West Coast's most exciting producers.

If you've been in the club recently, chances are you've heard the work of Julian Edwards, AKA bastiengoat. Maybe it was the standout 2022 track "Tell Me If You Like It," which blends jungle breaks with a slinky sample from Cassie's R&B anthem "Me & U" to create a 130 banger perfect for modern dance floors. The Oakland-based producer has become a go-to name for party cuts that bounce, favoured by the likes of Bianca Oblivion and fellow Bay Area artist—and frequent back-to-back partner—Bored Lord.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Edwards is deeply connected to Oakland's underground rave scene. Reflecting on his early experiences, he explained how the region's unique blend of crowds—from "raw hardcore sound to hyphy house parties"—and legacy of DIY warehouse raves has always shaped his music.

While gentrification in the region has limited opportunities to throw parties in those spaces, Edwards, as part of the label and collective NO BIAS, is carrying that torch for a new generation, pushing jungle, UK garage and all manner of US club variety while maintaining a strong DIY ethos. As dance music grows increasingly global and commercial, Edwards and co offer a refreshing antidote.

A prolific producer, Edwards is hard to pin down musically. He can apply his distinctive touch to virtually any genre. Take "Slander," where he blends hardcore and electro with Jersey club. Or "at em" a collision of 2-step, bassline and furious breaks. At the core of his work is a transatlantic bass connection, much like fellow West Coast star Introspekt. Both have a serious knack for fusing intricate rhythms with the kind of deep, murky bass weight synonymous with so much UK dance music.

For RA.990, Edwards jumps between genres with flex and ease—one moment it's grime-like basslines evoking "Pulse X," then aqueous, melancholic club, before twisting into fast and furious breaks. Rough, ready, and rowdy, it’s music that’s equal parts technical showcase and peak-time firework display.

The release is the first in a series of four albums that evoke the elements of a cursed and putrefied planet, in a time when the future appears uncertain and the world as we know it approaches an abyss. "Neon Eclipse" from Mogano is one of 6 tracks in the new Rapture VA, which will feature also artists such as Kara Konchar, Nghtly, Punshukunshu, Revolt and Ruben Seoane in another compilation where the aesthetics of obscurantism serve as the guiding theme to mesmerize listeners.

"Neon Eclipse" delivers a chest-destroyer kick and a half-tempo feel suggested by a noisy snare negotiate the available spectrum with the incoming waveshaped synth. Its movement is infectious and becomes tridimensional when other atmospheric elements play around it.

It mirrors the strength and sensitivity embodied by FLINTA artists and their creative expression.

In this chapter, Mozaix hands the stage entirely to FLINTA artists—those too often underrepresented in electronic music—proving that mastery, depth, and innovation know no gender. The compilation flows through hypnotic textures, raw grooves, and bold sonic statements, each track a wingbeat in a collective flight toward visibility and liberation.

Dupree’s cosmic ambient opener, 'Jacurutu', sinks you into deep, sub-aquatic techno hypnosis before 'Heretics' layers up alien sounds and rolling kick drums. 'Syk' brings edgy, unrelieved loops and muffled spoken words over more mind-melting rhythm. The supple sounds and otherworldly atmospheres continue on 'Forms', which is marbled with static electricity, with 'Interlude of Voice' marking a moment to reset amongst gorgeous celestial synth smears.

The second half of the album takes in the more punchy but still perfectly loopy deep techno of 'Memory Replacement' and psychedelic swirls of 'Tongue of the Unseen'. There is a mystical charm to the harmonic tones of 'Gammu', a moodier vibe pervades the suspensory 'Fogwood', then ' Semuta Music' traps you in tightly coiled drums and hi-hats while a backlit glow soothes the soul. 'One of Many Faces' closes with a heart-aching piano piece that gets deeply emotional.

Kobe Dupree is a techno artist from Chicago with a deep interest in sound design and minimalism. His musical experiments have been released on Trax Research, Double Vision Records and DJ Hyperactive’s 4Trk, on which he released the ‘Stimulate | Iterate’ EP in 2024. He has a hybrid approach to production, which involves using a modular rig for sound design before moving to a DAW for arrangement and final touches, heard on the sophisticated and cerebral ‘Voice From The Inside’ album.

Each track stands on its own but also connects to a broader sonic arc - one that favors clarity over clutter and focus over force. The arrangements evolve with patience, revealing layers of harmonic, almost current-like, warmth, rhythmic tension and crisp tonal movement. This is techno that feels alive: shifting, breathing and built with intent.

What makes ‘Bourbon’ stand apart is the concept behind its creation. Produced by ANFS during a personal reset and a deep dive into the world of specialty coffee, the album channels the sensory experience of tasting and translates that into rhythm and tone. Each piece responds to a particular variety, fermentation process or brewing variable, turning flavour notes and attributes like acidity, aroma, and aftertaste into frequency response and sonic form.

It all began with ‘Pink Bourbon’ - the first track composed and a catalyst for the entire project. What followed was a game of synesthesia: crafting sounds based on taste, using music to translate something as fleeting as a cup into something physical, something that moves. ‘Bourbon’ is not only a techno record but rather a reflection of internal healing process, obsession and how everyday rituals can spark profound creative energy.

Renegade Methodz is proud to release this unique LP from ANFS: a work of art that sounds like nothing else out there at the moment. It's a focused and forward-thinking piece of music creation that shows artistic maturity, profound inspiration and masterful execution.

Techno innovator Regent has already made his mark on Mutual Rytm with two previous outings highlighting his refined but powerful style. The Berlin-based artist joins the dots between bold percussive grooves and distinct cerebral layers, with his productions continuing to receive wide support from DJs and tastemakers across the globe. This return to SHDW’s flourishing label features one of his most anticipated tracks to date – a truly timeless warehouse anthem that marks an exciting new chapter for both Regent and the label.

‘Permean’ is a raw but sophisticated piece of techno that merges powerful drums with hypnotic pads. It brims with surgical sound design. While the groove is fierce, a haunting melodic touch adds a soft and deeply emotional edge as Regent explores the tension between permanence and decay, delivering a timeless and essential track. The first remix comes from Steve Rachmad under his Sterac guise. This version channels the spirit of his early work – pure, stripped-back techno at its finest. Tightly programmed and deep, it features burrowing bass and impish synths dancing up top to occupy the mind while the body moves.

Next comes a remix from one of the most innovative producers of our time, René Pawlowitz, under his Head High alias, a project reserved for his more house-leaning sounds. His ‘Power Tool Mix’ brings his signature loopy style with thudding kicks, raw hi-hats and twitchy synths – already shaping up to be a summer hit. Pawlowitz then steps out under his renowned techno alias Shed. His ‘Forceful Pressure Mix’ is a blistering and unrelenting weapon, with rusty textures and powerful bass locking you in its glitches, unresolved loops and booming low end.

Next up on Luke Slater's Mote-Evolver is Primal Instinct co-founder Chlär with the 'Topography' EP. It follows his debut album, 'The Architects of Shadows', which came out on Primal Instinct at the tail end of 2024, and sees the Swiss-bom, Germany-based artist deliver four more tracks of unmistakable, dance-floor-primed Chlär sound.

Chlär's 'Topography' EP embraces Mote-Evolver's tradition of deeper groove Techno with finesse, seeing 'Altitude' kick off proceedings as a heads-down slice of hypnotism featuring can't-miss Techno rhythm while otherworldly creatures add to the atmosphere. 'Serac' then delves even further, its effective bassline welded together with subtle sequences before we flip the record around for 'Lamin', a track rife with ghostly dub chords and remnants of a vocal sample. Closing out the trip is 'Phantom Grid', a clap riding its groove as it builds the intensity, dropping the pressure with hammering kickdrums and excellent, warped percussion for another lose-yourself club offering from the ever-promising Chlär.

Black.n is a musician and producer from the western part of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He explores sounds ranging from the hard and visceral of EBM to the eclectic and euphoric of Electro. He is characterized by a solid, forceful sound, with organic nuances but without ever losing his trademark power and rawness. Black.n explores the darkest aspects of humanity and machines, which he highlights in his live performances. We know what you're thinking: why did it take so long to get Binh on the RA Podcast? There's no easy answer, especially given that he's been a favourite of ours for over a decade now. So to make up for lost time, the revered digger lands on the series with a tantalising three-hour mix, recorded live at Nowadays in New York earlier this year.

Crammed with rare and unreleased gems spanning house, techno, and electro, RA.989 is heavy on drama, catching the Düsseldorf native in unbridled performance mode.

This is Binh in 2025. But rewind across the past two decades and you'll find a DJ who excels in pretty much any situation, whether warming up for Zip or Margaret Dygas, going back-to-back with masters like Nicolas Lutz or rolling out solo sets that stretch across ten or even 12 hours.

He's acted out all these scenarios most often at Berlin institution Club der Visionaere, the cosy canalside club that became a kind-of spiritual home. (He'd sometimes spend every night of the week there, before parenting duties got the better of him.)

To play for half a day you need a lot of records, and the backbone of Binh's craft has long been a freakish passion for vinyl. Along with Lutz, Vera, and others in CDV's orbit, he approaches the pursuit of wax, new and old, with next-level dedication and a fondness for blind buys.

That's true of RA.989, although among the un-Shazamables are many tracks that are either out or coming out on Binh's popular Time Passages label. The mix finds him on a house-y tip, luxuriating in roomy basslines, driving 303s and twinkly melodies—with just the right amount of evil. Lock in and savour a one-of-a-kind DJ, completely in the zone.
